If you had all your factory stuff on a planet, why would you have NOT taken steps to secure it for yourself?
You failed to take it, someone else did. You have pretty much abdicated any right you had to use of that poco, then. Don't like it? Blow up the one that's there right now. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Please actually read the thread before posting stupid stuff. Like I said, I already have my stuff out of High Sec, I'm not complaining about that.. I'm trying to figure out why people are coping out of a massive opportunity.
Well, I can answer that right now.
Because it's funny. And there is also a possibility to profit from it, and a possibility to get good fights from it.
There is no reason not to.

Like I said, you can make MORE profit by lower taxes and attracting people to your System. And more fights from those trying to take a system. If Taxes are high, the Only systems that are going to see much action are those that are strategic, close to a Hub or Low Sec. But a System with low taxes and lots of traffic is going to be profitable no matter where it is.
Heh, nope. You don't seem to understand the benefits of keeping down an industry you are invested in.
Suppose, for example, that I owned one or two of those planets near a hub or a lowsec gate. Discouraging people from using anything else is GREAT for me.
And it all goes triple for big alliances, who don't care about the piddle of isk they can make from being nice to the carebears, but who really care about market manipulation, which they can do by shutting other people down. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

There's the thing, like I said, the Market Manipulation is not going to work, not how people think for several reasons. 1: PI Mostly comes from Low/Null/WH ANYWAY, High Sec is going to have little effect on the market as a whole. 2: By Cutting out the "Kittens" you leave nothing but Lions to contend with. If the market becomes far more difficult to control in any one's favor when all the contenders are big wigs. 3: By having high Taxes, you are encouraging people to use anything BUT yours. meaning you are loosing out for more work.
1. Yes, it does. But most of the factory planets that people use are in highsec.
2. The "Lions", as you call them, are unofficially working together anyway. When you have a few large entities who have diplomatic channels to deal with, setting up market control is vastly easier than if you have innumerable small entities.
3. Yes, which as I explained before, is a good thing if you are trying to funnel people toward a specific objective. Which is twofold in this case. Either get them to wardec you and attack your poco, in which case you get fights, or to funnel them to your specific choice and establish control over them as a result.
Either way, we win. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

The RvBee customs authority has made considerable isk already today and we're barely through releasing High Sec pubbies from the chains of an impersonal corporation taking their money.
You guys got up on that pretty quickly, by the way. I admire your operational efficiency. I got on literally 30 minutes after downtime was over, and saw you all through space while roaming for ghost sites. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Oh, I am sure it was. I also had a suspicion that you guys were going to invade one or two lowsec areas and take the pocos over there, too.
But it's still the first day, time will tell I suppose. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

If you don't mind answering, is this focused in specific areas, or scattered across the map?
And, were the pocos taken chosen by design or opportunity? Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Mittens has to be facepalming on this one.
He lowers the overall tax rate, and still they ***** about having to pay it to him, instead of burning it giving it to Interbus or whatever.
I mean, you all do know the Goons could be rampantly screwing you(and you couldn't really do a damn thing about it either way), right? Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

According to various conspiracy theorists, not only do the Goons actually have about a hundred people online at any given time doing this (including me), they also assassinated JFK. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Um... The Goons are largely credited with heavy advocation for the nerfing of tech themselves, you know that right?
Also, I can't believe no one jumped on me for the JFK reference... it was both offensive and topical, given that Friday is the 50th anniversary of his death. Come on ya'll. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

I predict a very ugly divorce. Goons have that whole, "Scorched Earth" thing going.
Given the burning remnants of TEST being an example of how that goes, I predict fairly warm relations between the two.
And heck, TEST only went that way because Montolio went insane in real life. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Oh, is that so?
Well, idk about that, to be honest. I think "the masses" got an abject demonstration of exactly where they are in the food chain with the last live event.

Yeah, I would qualify the whole "Ability to ruin the game for thousands upon thousands of people on a whim" thing as being fairly important.
